Glutamine
An amino acid closely connected to the gastrointestinal tract

Glutamine is an amino acid that the body can produce itself and that is also found naturally in protein-rich foods. It is used by cells throughout the body, not least in the gastrointestinal tract.
In GO100, we use added L-glutamine as part of the bar’s carefully designed composition. Together with resistant starch, collagen, MCT oil and carefully selected ingredients, glutamine helps make GO100 different from ordinary snack and protein bars.
Each GO100 contains approximately 1.8 grams of glutamine.
Frequently asked questions about glutamine
What is glutamine?
Glutamine is an amino acid. Amino acids are the building blocks that proteins are made of, but they are also used in many other processes in the body.
Glutamine is often classified as a non-essential amino acid, because the body can normally produce it itself. At the same time, it is an amino acid that is used very actively in several tissues.
Why is glutamine interesting for the gut?
The gastrointestinal tract is one of the body’s most active tissues. The cells of the intestinal lining are constantly working to absorb nutrients, form a surface towards the intestinal contents and renew themselves.
Glutamine is used by cells in the gastrointestinal tract as part of their normal energy and nitrogen metabolism. This is one reason why glutamine is an interesting amino acid in a recipe developed with the gut in mind.
This describes how the body uses glutamine. It does not mean that glutamine from a food goes directly to the gut, or that intake itself has been shown to repair or strengthen the intestinal wall.
What happens when you eat glutamine?
Glutamine from food or supplements is absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and enters the body’s normal amino acid metabolism.
Like other amino acids, glutamine can be used in different ways depending on the body’s current needs. It can be used in protein synthesis, in cellular energy metabolism or as a starting point for other substances in the body.
Is glutamine naturally found in food?
Yes. Glutamine is naturally found in many protein-rich foods, both animal-based and plant-based.
It is found in foods such as meat, fish, eggs, dairy products, pulses, nuts, seeds and grains. The amount varies between foods and depends on their protein content and amino acid profile.
Why does GO100 contain glutamine?
We chose glutamine because it is an amino acid with a clear connection to the body’s normal metabolism and to the active cells of the gastrointestinal tract.
GO100 is not developed as an ordinary protein bar. That is why we wanted to focus not only on the amount of protein, but on a more carefully designed whole. Glutamine is part of that whole, together with resistant starch, collagen, MCT oil, dates, tigernuts and real flavour ingredients.
How much glutamine does GO100 contain?
Each GO100 contains approximately 1.8 grams of added L-glutamine.
This is a clear amount in the bar’s recipe, while still being balanced with the other ingredients. GO100 is therefore not a glutamine supplement in the traditional sense, but a chocolate-coated premium bar where glutamine is one of several key ingredients.
Is GO100 suitable before training?
Yes. GO100 works well as a snack before training when you want something more thoughtfully designed than an ordinary energy bar.
MCT oil and carbohydrates provide energy that the body can use relatively quickly, while fibre and resistant starch make the energy profile more complex. GO100 also contains collagen protein and glutamine, an amino acid used by the body in many tissues, including during physical exertion.
This makes GO100 a smart choice before training, whether you are doing cardio or strength training.
Is GO100 a glutamine supplement?
No. GO100 is a functional premium bar, not a pure glutamine supplement.
Glutamine is an important part of the recipe, but the idea behind the bar is the whole composition: resistant starch, collagen, MCT oil, glutamine, dates, tigernuts, chocolate coating with inulin and real flavour ingredients.
A central part of GO100
Glutamine is an amino acid used by cells throughout the body, not least in the gastrointestinal tract. In GO100, it is part of a recipe where different ingredients contribute different properties.
By combining approximately 1.8 grams of glutamine per bar with resistant starch, collagen, MCT oil and carefully selected ingredients, we have created a chocolate-coated premium bar with a composition that differs from both ordinary snacks and traditional protein bars.
